Book StudIES

SDSCA is facilitating book studies addressing relevant issues affecting our schools and communities. Details and registration links are below. 

Cost: $18.00 for members and $25.00 for non-members
Credit: CEUs will be available for all participants with the option to pay an additional $45 to USF for a graduate credit

Description: The goal of this Book Study is to provide educators with the tools necessary to explore how childhood trauma negatively impacts the social, emotional and behavioral functioning of children within the school system. Through discussion questions and reflection, participants will be challenged to examine and collaborate with others about a new approach for working with children who have a history of trauma; and explore different methods with regards to school models, classroom strategies, regulation and the teacher-student relationship.

National School Counseloring Week

​National School Counseling Week (NSCW) aims to bring awareness to the great things school counselors are doing within schools. NSCW is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). This advocacy event focuses on highlighting the immense impact school counselors have in helping students prepare for their futures.
